Bill Estimate Tool
We care about our members, and we’ve heard your concerns about your electric bills. While some factors affecting your bill are outside of our control, we’ve been working on ways to help you better understand and manage your electricity usage.
We’re excited to introduce a NEW tool to help you manage your monthly electric bill!
Our Bill Estimate Tool works alongside the information available in the SmartHub app to help you monitor your daily electricity usage and stay on track throughout the month so you can reduce the chance of unexpected surprises when your bill arrives.
How It Works:
Simply enter the monthly dollar amount you’d like your electric bill to be around. The estimator will then calculate an estimated daily kWh usage target.
By keeping your daily electricity usage around this target, your monthly bill should be approximately the amount you entered.
You can use SmartHub to:
- View your daily electricity usage.
- Monitor your usage throughout the month.
- Sign up for text and/or email usage alerts, which are sent around 10:00 a.m. each day.
A better way to evaluate your bill
When reviewing your electric bill, consider these three things:
- Look at your kWh usage. Did you use more or less electricity than you did previously?
- Compare your usage to the same period last year. This provides a more meaningful comparison than simply looking at last month.
- Consider what changed. Think about weather, heating and cooling, household activity, and other circumstances that could have affected your consumption.
- The goal is to look at the complete picture rather than focusing only on the final dollar amount.
We understand that seeing a higher bill can be frustrating. Our goal is to help our members understand why their bill has changed and give them the information they need to better manage their electricity usage. By paying attention to kWh consumption, comparing usage year-over-year, and understanding that the PCRF can fluctuate, you can get a much clearer picture of what is driving your electric bill.
