District 2 Incumbent - Herff Cornelius

District 2 Incumbent - Herff Cornelius
Herff Cornelius currently serves as the representative for District 2.
As a lifelong resident of Wadsworth, I have represented District 2 on the Jackson Electric board of directors since 2002, holding the position of president since 2015. By serving on the board, I hope to make JEC a better company in order to better serve their members. My community is very important to me, so I am involved in various other organizations such as: Texan and Southwestern Cattle Raiser Association, Matagorda Farm Bureau, and Coastal Plan Ground Water District… to name a few.
My educational background includes: Bay City High School (class of 1977) and Texas Christian University with a degree in Ranch Management (class of 1979). I am currently the manager and president of E Cross Cattle Company, Inc., which is a family-owned and operated business located in Bay City, Texas. My wife and I also farm individually and own our own crawfish business, Cornelius Crawfish.
I have been happily married for 39 years to my wife, Nancy Jean Cornelius. We are blessed with two amazing children Leonard Herff Cornelius and Sara Jean Cornelius Briggs, along with three beautiful grandchildren: Wyatt, James, and Charleigh.
Over the years, Jackson Electric has made many changes and I am proud to say that our service has become a lot more reliable and rates are affordable and cost effective. I believe that JEC is in a good place for the future. I would like to thank everybody at JEC for their hard work and dedication daily. And thank you to the members for your continuous support and your trust in us.
District 4 Incumbent - William C. Hansen (Bill)

District 4 Incumbent - William C. Hansen (Bill)
William C. Hansen (Bill) currently serves as the representative for District 4.
As an established resident of the Palacios area, I have served as a JEC Director since 1987 proudly representing District 4. By acting as an active leader on the board, serving as vice president since (2018), I hope to continue our successful path of putting members first. I participated on other boards such as, Federal Land Bank and New First National Bank in El Campo
I graduated from Palacios high school in 1974 and Texas A&M in 1978 with a degree in Ag Economics. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Audrey Hansen, for 38 years and we have three children together.
As a self-employed farmer and rancher, I know the value of hard work, so I hope to continue to be a great leader for Jackson Electric. I am extremely proud of Jackson Electric’s community commitment and service. It’s been an honor serving the JEC members and I would like to thank you for your confidence and continued support.
District 6 Incumbent - Anthony Ray Smith

District 6 Incumbent - Anthony Ray Smith
Anthony Ray Smith currently serves as the representative for District 6.
I am vying to represent District 6 in the coming election. District 6 includes the area east of the Sargent community, as well as Franklin Camp and Hinkle’s Ferry area. I am a proud graduate of Van Vleck High School, class of 1981. I started employment with Mundy Company at BASF Corporation in Freeport, Texas. Then I briefly pursued a singing career from 1994-1996. Currently I am the owner and operator of Tony’s Septic Service and I am active in my community and my church, First Methodist Church of Brazoria, Texas.
I have been married for twenty years to Sandy Smith, we have two sons ages 19 and 16. I would love to represent the 6th district because I know everyone in the area and would be proud to answer any questions that may come about the coop. Jackson Electric is known for putting their members first, and I am very excited to potentially be a part of that.
District 7 Incumbent - Laval Simons

District 7 Incumbent - Laval Simons
Laval Simons currently serves as the representative for District 7.
Since 2007, I have represented District 7 on the Jackson Electric board of directors. District 7 is the area south of FM 616 and east of West Carancahua Creek, and the place that I am proud to call my life-long home. Leadership and continuity are a couple of assets that I hope to provide to the JEC organization and their members. I am a small business owner and I also served my community by serving on the Calhoun County Fair board. In 1981, I graduated from Palacios High School, where I then spent a brief time in the army.
Jackson Electric is different than other electric companies, because they abide by the seven core principles and values that all electric Cooperatives have adopted. Putting their members first is an important principle for Jackson Electric and I am very proud of their customer service and would like to thank the members for their continued support.
